Dream Mosaic LLC ("we," "us," or "our") operates Unwritten Chronicles ("the Service"). This Privacy Policy explains what information we collect, how we use it, and your rights regarding that information.

We are committed to handling your data responsibly. We collect only what we need to provide the Service and do not sell your personal information to third parties.

We may change this policy by posting the updated version here and changing the "Last Updated" date above. Before we make changes, we will notify you by email or by clear notice on the Service.

2. Information We Collect

2a. Information You Provide

  • Email address — used for account authentication, receipts, and service communications
  • Username — your chosen display name within the Service

2b. Information Collected Automatically

  • IP address — collected for security, fraud prevention, and general analytics
  • Gameplay data and logs — including player actions, AI responses, campaign events, and credit usage. Used to provide the Service, improve AI quality, and resolve support issues
  • Browser and device type — collected for compatibility and debugging purposes

2c. Information We Do Not Collect

  • We do not collect your real name unless you voluntarily provide it
  • We do not collect payment information — Paddle handles everything related to payments
  • We do not knowingly collect information from anyone under 18

3. How We Use Your Information

We use the information we collect to:

  • Create and manage your account
  • Process credit purchases and send payment receipts
  • Provide and operate the AI game experience
  • Send transactional emails (purchase confirmations, password resets)
  • Detect and prevent fraud, abuse, and Terms violations
  • Diagnose technical issues and improve the Service
  • Comply with legal obligations

AI training: Dream Mosaic will not use your gameplay data to train its own AI models without your explicit consent. Note that session data is processed by third-party AI providers to generate your game content — those providers are governed by their own policies.

Marketing: We will not send you marketing emails without your opt-in. If you receive communications from us and wish to stop, you may unsubscribe using the link in any email we send or by contacting us directly.

4. How We Share Your Information

4a. Selling Information

We do not sell your personal information. We share data only in the following limited circumstances.

4b. Third-Party Providers

We share data with third-party providers necessary to operate the Service:

  • Paddle — payment processing as Merchant of Record. Paddle collects the billing and payment information necessary to process your purchase. Subject to Paddle's Privacy Policy.
  • AI Providers — Game inputs are sent to third-party AI providers to generate narrative, imagery, and game responses. Subject to the respective providers' Privacy Policy.
    • Anthropic
    • Stability AI
    • Voyage AI
  • Giphy — GIF content delivery. When you use the /giphy feature, GIF content is loaded directly from Giphy's CDN. Your IP address and browser information may be visible to Giphy when loading this content. Subject to Giphy's Privacy Policy.

4c. Legal Requirements

We may disclose information if required by law, court order, or governmental authority, or if we believe disclosure is necessary to protect the rights, property, or safety of Dream Mosaic, our users, or the public.

4d. Business Transfers

If the company is acquired or merges with another entity, your information may be transferred as part of that transaction. We will notify you via email before your data becomes subject to a different privacy policy.

5. Data Retention

We retain your account information for as long as your account is active. Gameplay logs are retained for up to 12 months and then deleted or anonymized. If you close your account, we will delete your personal information within 30 days, except where retention is required by law.

6. Security

We use reasonable safeguards to protect your information, including encrypted connections (HTTPS) and secure credential storage. No system is perfectly secure. In the event of a data breach affecting your personal information, we will notify you as required by applicable law.

7. US Residents Only

The Service is operated in the United States and intended for US residents who are 18 or older. We do not target users outside the United States, and we do not design the Service to comply with non-US privacy frameworks or other international laws.

By creating an account, you represent that you are a US resident. If you access the Service from outside the United States, you do so on your own initiative and at your own risk, and you are responsible for compliance with any laws of your jurisdiction. We may terminate accounts that we believe are operated from outside the United States.

8. Your Rights and Choices

You have the right to:

  • Access the personal information we hold about you
  • Request correction of inaccurate information
  • Request deletion of your account and associated data
  • Opt out of marketing communications at any time

To use any of these rights, contact us at the email address below with the subject line "Privacy Request." Include your account email address and username so we can verify your identity before processing the request. We will respond within 30 days.

We do not sell personal information, so there is no opt-out for data sales.

9. Cookies

We only use cookies that are needed to operate the Service — to keep you logged in, maintain your account state, and secure your session. We do not use third-party analytics cookies, advertising cookies, tracking pixels, or any non-essential cookies of any kind.

Because we use only strictly necessary cookies, no cookie consent banner is required.

When you visit Paddle's checkout to purchase credits, or when GIF content loads from Giphy's CDN, those third-party domains may set their own cookies under their respective privacy policies. We have no control over or access to those cookies — they exist entirely on those providers' domains, not ours.

10. Children's Privacy

The Service is intended for users 18 years of age and older. We do not knowingly collect personal information from anyone under 18. If we learn that we have collected information from a minor, we will delete it promptly. If you believe a minor has created an account, contact us at the email address below with the subject line "Children's Privacy."
